Valu-Vision is a gang rip saw scanner that was developed to address a specific niche needed in the market. It was designed to fall between the fully automated in-line rip scan systems and the simple width measurement infeed systems used today to rip random width material.

Valu-Vision directly addresses the lack of flexibility and difficulty in operating fully automated scanners while also providing a step up from simple width optimizing infeeds. The operator’s perception combined with the calculating speed of a computer provides the capability to get the most out of any lumber in any application. That is, all boards can be ripped exactly to the customer’s specification without relying on either a scanner or an operator for all decisions, but by combining their attributes to provide better results on each board.

Adding a moving blade rip saw offers complete flexibility by allowing the operator to process many widths and length requirements efficiently. By taking many of the defect based rip decisions away from the operator, more production can be accomplished while still giving complete flexibility.
