Now we're getting serious about speed. Running profile products or dimensioned lumber at feed rates up to 1320 ft. per minute, the Hydromat 5000 opens up a whole new production dimension.

Faster and easier is the best description for the Hydromat 5000. Built for speed, but retains the user friendly attributes of the smaller Highspeed Series machines. A moulder that runs this fast, but changes over quicker than anything in its class is technical feat accomplished only through the collaboration of WACO and Weinig.

Make no mistake - this is not your average moulder/planer. Everything from the feed wheels to the outboard bearings is engineered only for this machine. Even the hold-down elements are designed expressly for the Hydromat 5000. Air-powered and self locking, hold-down roller assemblies and pressure elements are massive. Even the left fences and spindles are equipped with automatic locking to speed up changeover time and eliminate mistakes.
Earlier moulders in this range, as well as the old-style planer/matchers could run as fast, but had the disadvantage of extremely long setup times. Changing knives in the heads while they were on the machine was a productivity nightmare, and subsequent jointing of the heads required stopping and bolting on the jointers. Not any more! Built-in profile and straight knife jointers can even be programmed to joint automatically!

The Hydromat 5000 can be changed over faster than anything in this speed range, and can be equipped with the PowerCom Control System for fully automatic positioning of some or all of the elements. It's your choice. High speed moulding is not just for the big mills any more - the flexibility of the Hydromat 5000 opens up a whole new dimension for any size plant.
