Press Release:
The Fastest Optimizing Line In The World Is Delivered To The
USA
In January, the Weinig subsidiary company
DIMTER from Illertissen, Germany presented the fastest chop saw
production line in the world to its customers before delivery to
the USA. Over 300 interested parties from all over the world
experienced the power of the system first hand. On the final day
of presentations, DIMTER achieved record-breaking performance
with the system.
The chop saw production line consists of three OptiCut 450
Quantum optimizers, which are fed at the same time via a
sophisticated mechanism. An upstream scanner provides all three
machines with the relevant wood data. DIMTER set two new records
during demonstrations. With a real production cut list, the
system reached a throughput of 663 lineal feet of wood per
minute with an incoming length of 10 feet.
This corresponds to a speed of 68
parts per minute on the distribution station. With
shorter incoming lengths, a speed of 74 parts per minute
can be reached - figures which have previously never
been achieved by a chop saw system!
A cross-conveyor with rocker design conveys the scanned
goods to the chop saws on three levels. Wood which is
not to be fed to the chop saw can be discharged from the
production process. DIMTER takes great pains to ensure
that their systems can be expanded on a modular basis.
A further highlight is the possibility of
complete remote maintenance of the system all over the world by
DIMTER specialists. Advanced monitoring tools enable the
function of all the elements over the entire surface of the
system to be monitored. This means that targeted service
intervention can be carried out, often removing the need for an
onsite technician. The performance of the system can be checked
at any time via the network connection. The system operator can
also have a daily performance report sent via E-mail.
The saw line was delivered and
installed in the US, and the customer reports excellent
performance.
Weinig America is confident that this is
just the first of many successful installations capable
of this range and speed.
